Pray is a quiet place to pray. It is built to keep as little about you as possible.
What the app stores on your phone
Your chosen mood, door, music volume, scene options, the word you were on, your prayer rhythm toggles and this week's marks are kept only on your device, in the browser's local storage. They never leave your phone unless you sign in.
If you sign in with Google
Signing in is optional. It exists so that your own words can follow you between devices and so you can join the Bride of Christ community. When you sign in with Google or Apple, the provider gives the app your name, email address and profile picture, and Firebase Authentication (a Google service) keeps a record of your account. Your own words, prayer requests, testimonies, friendships, group memberships and feedback are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database under your account.
Your prayer requests and testimonies are visible only to friends you have accepted and to members of groups you belong to. Your @username, name and picture can be found by other signed-in users who type the first letters of your username. Friendship is asked for and accepted; nobody sees your prayers by adding you.
Groups: the name, church, city, state, country, postcode and the contact number and email the leader enters are shown to signed-in users who search for the group, so people can find and contact it. Members' usernames are shown to other members.
We do not sell, share or use this information for advertising. There are no ads in Pray, and no analytics or tracking.
Reminders
If you turn a reminder on, the app asks for notification permission and stores a push token with your chosen times, days and time zone so a note can reach this phone. A small Cloudflare program checks every minute and sends the note through Google's push service at your chosen times. You can turn reminders off at any time, which removes the record.
Music
The music and the two prayer tracks are by Kingdomcity, used with rights held by the developer. They are served from the app's own site; tapping a name opens it on Spotify.
Services that see your connection
Cloudflare hosts the site and database. Google Fonts, Google's Firebase scripts and cdnjs (for the QR code) serve files to your browser, so they see your IP address like any website you visit. There are no analytics or advertising scripts.
The apps
The Google Play and App Store apps are thin shells around this same site and share the same account and data. Nothing extra is collected by the apps.
Deleting your data
Remove any of your words with the × beside it in the Words tab, and any request or testimony with the × on its card. To delete your account and everything stored under it, open Bride of Christ → Profile → Delete my account; it is removed at once. You can also email prayapp247@gmail.com from the address you signed in with.
Children
Pray is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Country, state and postcode lists come from GeoNames, used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence. They are loaded only when you start a group.
